Westfjords

Let’s visit the Westfjords together

What are the Westfjords? The Westfjords lie at the northwest end of the country and this is the wildest and most untamed place in Iceland, apart from the highlands, of course. Due to the distance from the airport, few tourists come here. Those who land in Iceland and never set their foot here will make a big tourist mistake. Amazing cliffs, mountains, the most northerly glacier in Iceland, the largest bird breeding area in Europe, places that cannot be reached by car, hot springs, the wild ocean, proximity to Greenland… all these create the amazing landscape of the Westfjords. During our excrusion you will see scenic route to Arneshreppur, Reykjanes hot springs, route to Iceland’s northernmost glacier – Drangajokull, capital of the Fjords – Isafjordur, Iceland’s oldest mountain – Sandafell, west coast of the Westfjords, one of the most beautiful Icelandic waterfalls – Fjallfoss, Reykjafjardarlaug hot springs, the westernmost point of Europe and, by the way, the largest bird breeding area in Europe (a great place to watch puffins) – Latrabjarg, Raudissandur red beach, Hellulaug hot springs. From there we will go by ferry to Stkkisholmur in Snaefellsnes and on the way back to Reykjavik / Keflavik berserk path – berserkjahraun, sheep waterfall – lambafoss and Gerduberg Cliffs.
